不規(guī)則變化的復(fù)數(shù)名詞有以下幾種構(gòu)成法。
構(gòu)成方式

構(gòu)成法2: 加字尾en或ren。

2. There are two sheep living in this house.
有兩只羊住在這個(gè)房子里。
有些名詞單復(fù)數(shù)同形。sheep→sheep
3. There are two deer living here.
這里住著兩只鹿。
有些名詞單復(fù)數(shù)同形。deer→deer
4. There are two oxen living here.
有兩只牛住在這里。
名詞變復(fù)數(shù)時(shí)加字尾 en 或 ren。 ox→oxen
5. There must be lots of bacteria in here.
這里一定有大量的細(xì)菌。
有些外來語保留原來的復(fù)數(shù)形式。bacterium→bacteria
6. Ah, my teeth ache.
啊，我的牙痛。

一些以 o 結(jié)尾的種族名詞，如Eskimo(愛斯基摩人)，F(xiàn)ilipino(菲律賓人)等變成復(fù)數(shù)時(shí)，后面加 s，即Eskimos, Filipinos。

媽媽，那是我，你看不出來嗎?
名詞按不同的角度可分為多種類別，名詞可以分為可數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞。
可數(shù)名詞分為普通名詞和集合名詞;不可數(shù)名詞分為物質(zhì)名詞、抽象名詞和專有名詞。
1. 可數(shù)名詞是可以計(jì)數(shù)而有單復(fù)數(shù)之分的名詞，前面可加數(shù)詞或冠詞。如：boy(男孩), book(書), class(班級(jí)), family(家庭)等。
I am a boy.
我是一個(gè)男孩。
These are two books.
這是兩本書。
可數(shù)名詞包括普通名詞和集合名詞。
2. 普通名詞是表示同類的人、生物、事物、地方等所共有的名稱的字，如：boy(男孩), office(辦公室), idea(主意), book(書), mile(英里)等。
(1) 普通名詞被代名形容詞或所有格修飾時(shí)，不再加冠詞，如：
this (my, our, every, each, John's) book
這本書
this (my, our, every, each, John's) the book
這本書
(2) 復(fù)數(shù)普通名詞可用many, few, a few, a lot of等表示數(shù)目的字或片語修飾，而不用much, little等表示量的字或片語修飾。
I have much books to read.
我有很多書要讀。
I have many books to read.
我有很多書要讀。
